Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a $500 college scholarship to be awarded to a Bossier Parish high school graduate. The scholarship is not a loan and will be awarded as a gift to defray the rising costs of tuition and related expenses in higher education, Sheriff Larry Deen said. Applicants must be residents of Bossier Parish, the funds must be used in higher education within the state of Louisiana and individuals must plan to enroll as a full-time student, Deen said. Applications are available at all Bossier Parish high schools. The deadline is April 1 and the winner will be announce May 1. Call Nia Gregorczyk at (318) 965-3409 for more information.
