Seniors planning to attend LSUS may apply for the John and Cheryl Good Scholarship if they are a first generation college student and qualify for a Pell Grant.  For more information see BHS Counselor Gary Feaster.

Seniors can apply for the Horatio Alger Scholarship on line at www.horatioalger.org/scholarships.  The applicants must be students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society.  For more info see Mr. Feaster.

This program, which is federally funded and state-administered, is designed to recognize exceptionally able high school seniors who show promise of continued excellence in postsecondary education. The Department awards funds to state education agencies (SEAs), which make scholarship awards to eligible applicants. Students receive scholarships for college expenses.

The program is open to all high school seniors in the United States from 23,000 high schools. Coca-Cola Scholars come from all 50 states and more than one-third are minorities. The Scholars represent a cross-section of outstanding young people, characterized by their educational excellence, leadership in their schools and commitment to their communities.  Click for more info.
