The Benton Chapter of the National Honor Society held a ceremony for nine students who were to be inducted into the organization last spring, but were unable to attend that initiation: Eric Whitehead, Alex Saunders, Michael Ruiz, Meghan Ruiz, Heather Bright, Jeri Wilson, Samantha Trussell, and Chance Nerren. |

The Benton High School chapter of The National Honor Society has elected their officers for 2008. Congratulations to the following new NHS officers: NHS President – Wesley Adams; NHS Vice-President – Cassy Rains; NHS Secretary – Natalie Georgia; NHS Treasurer – Kelly Flurry. The National Honor Society will hold an induction ceremony for new members later this year. |

The Benton High School Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted 53 students into the prestigious organization at a ceremony held recently. National Honor Society Officers administering the Honor Society Promise to “maintain high standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character” were Brittany Bienvenu, President; Erin VanZandt, Vice President; Maggie Boggs, Program Director; Kelly Flurry, Secretary, and Sara Beth Russell, Treasurer. |

Benton students Jamie Britt, Alex Little, Al Little, Robbie McKenzie, Carla McNeil, and Lara McNeil participated in the Bossier-Caddo Parish “World of Work” event last week. Benton High ROTC members, Benton Cheerleaders, and members of the Benton High School Chapter of the National Honor Society also participated as volunteers in the education/community project. The project, which was held at the Bossier Civic Center, provided all types of work related opportunities for the participating students, while the volunteers assisted in the work booths set up at the Center. |

Fifty-three new members were initiated into the Benton High School Chapter of the National Honor Society, one of the most prestigious organizations on campus. Students qualify for NHS through their character, scholarship, leadership and service. In the candlelight ceremony presented by Senior NHS members Erica Hudson, Nicole Nezat and Steven Susla, initiates pledged their energy and loyalty to the principles of the National Honor Society. |
