FCA selected its Leadership Team for 2008-2009, which includes: Jeffrey Lang, President; Jared Parks and Daniel Salazar, Vice-Presidents; Wesley Adams, Alex Brown and Stefanie Woodrum, Senior Team Members; Kendall Porter, Junior Team Member; and Taylor Henry, Dana Bergeron and Kaitlin Flattmann, Sophomore Team Members. Speakers at recent FCA meetings have included local Pastor John Fream and BHS Coach Michelle Owens. Upcoming speaker Andy Streop (FCA local leader) will address the group next week. The group meets each Friday in the DECA room and all BHS students are invited to attend. The group is sponsored by coach and teacher Don Bihm, and teachers Wanda Farrington and Carol Wade. |

FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) has met every Friday afternoon after school during the Fall semester. The group recently celebrated the Benton football team success in getting to the semi-finals of the 3A championship playoffs with a pizza party and a special speaker following the last pep rally in the gym. The speaker was John Gist, who is the associate youth minister at Cypress Baptist Church. Andy Stroup, area FCA representative, was also at the school visiting the coaches and the FCA huddle. FCA will be completing a Christmas project this week for needy families in the area. |

The Benton Chapter of FCA, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, met Friday afternoon to elect officers and to discuss their plans for the school year. The group meets regularly to hear invited speakers, to have fellowship, and to plan goodwill projects. The group is sponsored by teachers Carol Wade and Don Bihm. |
