Because of the cancellation of the Benton game vs. Alexandria, FM 92.1 will host a LIVE Benton Tiger Football Show hosted by play-by-play announcer Harold Ashcraft. Tiger football coaches and players will also be along to add comments and take your questions. Friday’s scheduled game against Alexandria Sr. High has been cancelled. The Alexandria area did suffer damage from Gustav, and ASH students have yet to return to school. Therefore, the team is unable to host the game or make the trip to Benton. We wish a speedy recovery for the ASH community and a successful football season to come. |

Coming off their second playoff semifinal appearance in three years (05 vs. Redemptorist & 07 vs. Bastrop), the Benton Tigers have earned a No. 5 state ranking the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 4A poll. The poll is voted on by 12 sportswriters throughout the state. Bastrop, the two-time defending 4A champion, is the unanimous pick at No. 1, followed by O.P. Walker, Eunice, and Leesville, with Benton coming in fifth. Haughton (No. 17) and Parkway (No. 18) of District 1-4A also received votes in the poll. Click here to view the complete poll. |

Benton High School has a long-standing tradition in football. Each and every year the Tigers are among the best in the 1-4A district and in the Louisiana 4A classification. Under the leadership of great coaches, the Benton Tigers put on a great show each and every Fall Friday night in Tiger Stadium.
