 For each department you will find a listing of faculty, faculty profiles, and courses taught.   Following the listing of faculty in each department, you will find a "Course Guide" of class descriptions for many of the classes offered in that department. Any questions concerning a specific course can be directed to the appropriate faculty member.
 
Benton High receives 2 Bossier Parish Optimist Club Grants

Mathematics teachers Marvin Nelson, Jason Edwards and Wanda Farrington have received 2 Bossier Parish Optimist Club Grants. A total of 10 grants were awarded to Bossier Parish Schools. Mr. Nelson was awarded $950.10 to support “Project Autonomous Navigation”. Mr. Edwards and Mrs. Farrington were awarded $2,398.00 to integrate the TI-Navigator and SMART interactive board into their math classrooms. These teachers, along with their principals and Mr. Kruithof, will be honored at the Optimist Club Lunch on Wednesday, May 28, at 12:00 noon, at the Stone's Throw Cafe. The Shreveport Times: Benton High to offer new program

Benton High School is set to offer a new program to students next year. STEM — short for science, technology, engineering and math — is an honors curriculum that focuses on those subjects. Twenty incoming freshmen have already applied for the new program and current Benton High students interested in STEM will be grandfathered into the program. The program is set up for students to take various honors courses in the four subjects over their high school career. Carol Wade, chemistry and biology teacher at Benton, said many students were already interested in taking the classes but couldn't find room in their schedules. The STEM program structure will allow students to take those classes.

Graduation to be held 11:30 a.m. May 17; view list of graduates

Graduation for Benton High School will be at 11:30 a.m. May 17 at the CenturyTel Center. Honor graduates are Hannah Estelle Cherry, Millicent Claire Davis, Amanda Marie Emfinger, Kelly Leigh Flurry, Natalie Georgia, Patrick Harrington, Richard Moore and Cassy Clair Rains.
