Throughout the school year, representatives from universities, colleges, military branches, and other post-secondary institutions will set up tables during both lunch shifts to distribute information and answer questions.  Here are some upcoming visits.  If you are interested, please stop by their table during your lunch shift.

Congratulations!


Congrats to the Freshman Football team on their win over Plain Dealing last night:  In the first quarter QB – Garrett Hable threw a 13 yard TD pass to Brooks Cram. In the second quarter Hable had a 12 yard TD run. In the third quarter Doyle Adams had a 35 yard TD run and Sidney Smith ran for a 10 yard TD. Carter Parks also had 3 PAT’s to make the final score 27-14. Great job on both sides of the ball by the entire team. The Freshman Tigers take on North Desoto Monday. Come out and support your freshman football team.

Notices/Meetings/Events:


Homecoming Court Elections will open Thursday, September 18 after school and close Friday, September 19 at 2:00 PM. Students can vote on their mobile devices or in computer lab B-7 on Friday, September 19 before school and during both lunch shifts. The website is www.voting4schools.com and students will need their Edutest numbers to vote.

 

The BHS Cheerleaders are holding a fundraiser night at Texas Roadhouse in Bossier to help fund their trip to perform in the Disney Christmas Parade.  The date is Monday, September 22 from 4:00-10:00 p.m., and we will receive 10% of all sales that night (you must either bring the flyer or tell them you’re with BHS cheerleaders).  Please come enjoy dinner and help support our team!  Hope to see you all there!

 

Seniors:  There will be a senior class meeting on Thursday, September 25 at 8:45 AM in the cafeteria.  A representative from Graduate Sales will be here to speak with you about ordering caps and gowns, invitations, and other senior merchandise.  Morning vo-tech students can see Mrs. McCullough when they return to school to receive a packet.

 

Lady Tiger Basketball is selling BHS T-shirt Quilt raffle tickets for $5.00.  Perfect time of the year to get you’re a spirited quilt for that cool time weather and games! Drawing will be held October 2 before the home football game.  Winner need not be present to win.   We will be selling at all September home games by front entrance.

 

Senior cap and gown pictures are October 7.

 

There is bible study every Wednesday morning at 7:00 AM in Coach George’s room.  Everyone is invited to attend.

 

FCA meets every Thursday during both lunch shifts.  Everyone is invited to attend.

 

For Sale/Fundraisers:


Football t-shirts and hoodies are for sale in Mrs. Flanagan’s room (D-3).  Shirts are $10 and Hoodies are $25.

 

Students every Wednesday before a HOME football game, you will be able to purchase a game ticket for $3.00 with your student ID.  There is a limit of one ticket per student.  You can purchase your ticket ONLY during your lunch shift outside the cafeteria.  Tickets purchased at the game will be $7.00.

 


TIGER PRIDE!

Students/Parents:  The Louisiana Department of Education has mandated that all cell phones be collected by test administrators during all high stakes state testing. Each teacher who is administering a high stakes test (GEE or EOC) has been instructed to collect cell phones, MP3 players, or any other technological device with imaging or text-messaging capabilities. These devices will be placed in zip-lock bags which will be pre-labeled with students’ names. They will then be placed in a container and locked in a filing cabinet or cabinet. Students will be asked to initial that they have turned in a device and that they have had the device returned to them. Devices will be returned at the conclusion of the testing period. Students will not receive any consequences for being in possession of these devices.

BASS film production cast and crew, meet in Mr Alvarez room D-5 right after school today.

 

Everyone is invited to join with FCA members, parents, and fans at the pregame tailgate TONIGHT, Friday, September 12 at 5:30 PM.  Food and games will be located in the grassy area between the high school and the middle school.  The tailgate will be over in time to go to the football game.

 

All students planning to wrestle this year need to be at stadium clean-ups Saturday, September 13 at 8:00 AM. These clean-ups are mandatory for everyone that is planning to wrestle this season.  We will meet in-front of the home side stadium.  If you have any questions please see Coach Wainscott.
