Any 10th or 11th grade student interested in applying for the 2014-2015 yearbook staff needs to see Mrs. France and pick up an application. All applications will be due by Tuesday, April 15 by the end of the school day.

 

The parent meeting/fitting for pep squad is Tuesday, April 15 at 5:30 in the library. Please see Ms. Akin for more details.

 

SENIORS – the last day to register to attend Project Graduation for $25 and be guaranteed to receive a “goody” bag which includes a t-shirt will be Wednesday, April 16.  There will be a table set up during both lunch shifts on the 16th for Seniors to turn in their registration.  Students will still be allowed to register after April 16 at a cost of $30 but will not be guaranteed a “goody” bag with the t-shirt.  Seniors, you should have received the Project Graduation registration form via School Loop.

 

Bossier idol participants have a celebration party right after school in Mr. Alvarez's room next Wednesday, April 16! Bring Spanish food!
 

Juniors and Seniors:  Prom will be held on Friday, April 25 from 7:30-11:00 at the Los Palomas Event Center in Benton.  Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, April 8.  The last day to buy tickets and receive prom favors will be Thursday, April 17.  The cost is $25 a ticket.  You may purchase them from Mrs. McCullough in Commerce 2.  Please know the correct spelling of your date’s name.

 

Sophomores...it's time to start applying for the Bossier Youth Leadership program for the 2014-2015 school year. Applications are to be completed online. Commitment form must be downloaded, completed, and returned along with $100 application fee to Ms. Dunn or Mrs. Lauterbach. Deadline is April 17.

 

Seniors, make sure you turn in a copy of all of your scholarship offers to Ms. Dunn no later than April 25.

 

Student-Athletes: Willis Knighton is conducting their annual free physical clinic Saturday, May 3 at 8:30 AM. This is your one and only chance for a free physical and you must have a physical to participate in any sport in High School.  If you are even thinking about playing a sport next year, you need to make plans to attend.  Please see your coach for a physical form, and fill it out including parent signature before May 3. There will be transportation to and from the physicals.  The bus will be leaving from the middle school side promptly at 7:45 am to take you to the Willis Knighton Career Institute - 2401 Bessie St., Shreveport.

 

The Ring Ceremony has been changed to THURSDAY, May 8 @ Cypress Baptist Church at 6:00 PM.  Please see Mrs. France for information.

 

Tryouts for the girls' basketball team will be May 19 and May 20 from 2:45 - 4:00. Any girl interested must sign up with either Coach McConathy or Coach Ward.

 

The ROTC staff meets every Thursday at 9:05 AM.

 

FCA meets every Thursday during both lunch shifts in Mrs. Wade’s classroom (C-6).  Everyone is invited to attend.

Students, please make sure that you have paid all of your fees and/or items (textbooks, uniforms, etc.) owed.

Failure to comply with the above will result in access blocked to School Loop for both the student and parent/guardian.  As soon as items are turned in and /or payment has been received, School Loop access will be released.  Thank you!


TIGER PRIDE!


Students/Parents:  The Louisiana Department of Education has mandated that all cell phones be collected by test administrators during all high stakes state testing. Each teacher who is administering a high stakes test (GEE or EOC) has been instructed to collect cell phones, MP3 players, or any other technological device with imaging or text-messaging capabilities. These devices will be placed in zip-lock bags which will be pre-labeled with students’ names. They will then be placed in a container and locked in a filing cabinet or cabinet. Students will be asked to initial that they have turned in a device and that they have had the device returned to them. Devices will be returned at the conclusion of the testing period. Students will not receive any consequences for being in possession of these devices.

All new inductees to the National Honor Society must pay their dues to Mr. Edwards by this Friday, April 11. Any National Honor Society student or new inductee who wishes to purchase a t-shirt or patch must order by this Friday, April the 11.   T-shirts are $20 and patches are $10.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Edwards.

Chicken Day spirit shirts are on sale in Mrs. Turner’s room (A-21).  They are $10.  The Chicken Day t-shirts are the only spirit shirts that can be worn on Wednesday’s.

 

Attention Students/Parents/Guardians:  

Students, please make sure that you have paid all of your fees and/or items (textbooks, uniforms, etc.) owed.

Failure to comply with the above will result in access blocked to School Loop for both the student and parent/guardian.  As soon as items are turned in and /or payment has been received, School Loop access will be released.  Thank you!

Students/Parents:  The Louisiana Department of Education has mandated that all cell phones be collected by test administrators during all high stakes state testing. Each teacher who is administering a high stakes test (GEE or EOC) has been instructed to collect cell phones, MP3 players, or any other technological device with imaging or text-messaging capabilities. These devices will be placed in zip-lock bags which will be pre-labeled with students’ names. They will then be placed in a container and locked in a filing cabinet or cabinet. Students will be asked to initial that they have turned in a device and that they have had the device returned to them. Devices will be returned at the conclusion of the testing period. Students will not receive any consequences for being in possession of these devices.
