Wrestlers need to turn in cow chip bingo ticket money to Coach Wainscott.  Wrestlers, don't forget, you also have stadium clean up this Saturday at 8:00 am.

 

Any theatre or past theatre student or SGA member that would like to help next week work the haunted house at the carnival needs to come by Mrs. Dodson's room to sign up to help.

 

All wrestlers and people planning on wrestling this year need to come by Coach Wainscott's room and pick-up cow chip bingo tickets.

 

All girls soccer players need to turn in completed packets to coach Tasby ASAP.

 

Any juniors and seniors interested in or planning to attend college at Northwestern State University after they graduate, please let Ms. Dunn know.  You may go by her office in the Counselor’s Suite or send her a counselor note.

 

Any juniors and seniors are invited to the Discover ULM event that will be happening Tuesday, October 21st at 6pm at the Civic Center in Bossier. Their amazing colleges and outstanding organizations will be presented so that you get a taste of ULM from the comfort of your home region. If you would please register online at ulm.edu/evening/. More information about the event can also be found at that website.

 

The homecoming dance will be held on Saturday, October 25 from 7:30-11:00 PM in the BHS gym.  The theme is Bright Lights in the Big City.  Tickets will be on sale from Tuesday, October 14 until Wednesday, October 22.  The cost is $15 a ticket.  You can purchase them from Mrs. McCullough in room Commerce 2.

 

College/Career Night for Bossier Parish Juniors, Seniors and their Parents will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 – 6:00-8:00 PM at the Bossier Civic Center.  Representatives from Colleges, Universities, Technical Colleges, Business Schools, Beauty Schools, and the Armed Services will be there distributing information on scholarships, financial aid, and admission procedures.

 

Stampede Hunger is one of the SADD club’s projects for November. The 5K is on November 15 at 8:00 am at Benton United Methodist Church. Volunteers are needed from SADD to work the face-painting table.

 

The Benton 5K for Down’s will be held on Saturday, November 22 at 8:00 AM at the Benton Sport Complex.  Registration is $15.  T-shirts are sold separately for $10.  Please see Coach Bryant in room B-11 for information and to purchase a t-shirt.

 

For Sale/Fundraisers:


Football t-shirts and hoodies are for sale in Mrs. Flanagan’s room (D-3).  Shirts are $10 and Hoodies are $25.

 

Senior Yearbook Ads - If you would like to recognize your senior in the 2014-2015 Yearbook, all senior ad money AND photos are due by October 30. Information was mailed to all seniors. All information is attached.  Please contact Mrs. France - michelle.france@bossierschools.org or 549-5301 with questions.

 

Students every Wednesday before a HOME football game, you will be able to purchase a game ticket for $3.00 with your student ID.  There is a limit of one ticket per student.  You can purchase your ticket ONLY during your lunch shift outside the cafeteria.  Tickets purchased at the game will be $7.00.

 


TIGER PRIDE!

Students/Parents:  The Louisiana Department of Education has mandated that all cell phones be collected by test administrators during all high stakes state testing. Each teacher who is administering a high stakes test (GEE or EOC) has been instructed to collect cell phones, MP3 players, or any other technological device with imaging or text-messaging capabilities. These devices will be placed in zip-lock bags which will be pre-labeled with students’ names. They will then be placed in a container and locked in a filing cabinet or cabinet. Students will be asked to initial that they have turned in a device and that they have had the device returned to them. Devices will be returned at the conclusion of the testing period. Students will not receive any consequences for being in possession of these devices.

Congratulations to the freshman football team for their 26-0 win over Northwood last night. Scoring first for the Tigers was CJ George on a blocked punt by Jordan Myles. Brooks Cram scored the next two touchdowns for the Tigers, one on an interception and the other on a fumble recovery. Michael Thomas scored the final touchdown. Carter Parks added three extra points.  Outstanding job by the freshman football team!

 

Congratulations to the Benton HS Debate team. Amber Hayes and Grace Cathcart placed 2nd in the novice division at the Ruston High School debate tournament this weekend. 

 

Congratulations to the Tiger Band members who auditioned for and made the LMEA 2014 All-State groups Saturday, October 14, 2014.

  • Abby Kent made 5th Chair Tuba in the Symphonic Band

The cafeteria is doing a can food drive TODAY for National School Lunch week. Students, if you donate a can then you get to write your name on a card that will be posted in the café and placed in a drawing for a free slush Friday! We will draw 10 names!
