Congratulations!


Congratulations to the Lady Tiger Softball team for winning their 1st round playoff game 11-0 against Franklinton.  The Lady Tigers will play their 2nd playoff game this Saturday, April 26th @ 2:00 PM vs Assumption.  Admission is $6.00 per person – only LHSAA passes accepted.  Come out and support our Lady Tigers!

 

Congratulations to the Benton High Tennis Team for a great season and to the following players who played in Regionals today and qualified for State and will be playing in Monroe next Monday:  Chris Bates, Megan Fream, Alex Andrews, Collin Sanford, Emily McDill, and Kelyn Bihm!  Go Tigers!

FCA will not meet this Thursday, April 24th.

 

Juniors and Seniors:  Prom will be held on Friday, April 25 from 7:30-11:00 at the Los Palomas Event Center in Benton.

 

Seniors, make sure you turn in a copy of all of your scholarship offers to Ms. Dunn no later than April 25.

 

There will be a senior meeting Monday, April 28 during KTGR (9:05 AM) in the cafeteria.  Information about graduation will be passed out.  If you are not here in the mornings, please see Mrs. McCullough to get your information sheet.

 

Student-Athletes: Willis Knighton is conducting their annual free physical clinic Saturday, May 3 at 8:30 AM. This is your one and only chance for a free physical and you must have a physical to participate in any sport in High School.  If you are even thinking about playing a sport next year, you need to make plans to attend.  Please see your coach for a physical form, and fill it out including parent signature before May 3. There will be transportation to and from the physicals.  The bus will be leaving from the middle school side promptly at 7:45 am to take you to the Willis Knighton Career Institute - 2401 Bessie St., Shreveport.

 

The Ring Ceremony has been changed to THURSDAY, May 8 @ Cypress Baptist Church at 6:00 PM.  Please see Mrs. France for information.

 

SENIORS – you can still register for Project Graduation for $30 but will not be guaranteed a “goody” bag with the t-shirt.  Seniors, you should have received the Project Graduation registration form via School Loop.

 

Tryouts for the girls' basketball team will be May 19 and May 20 from 2:45 - 4:00. Any girl interested must sign up with either Coach McConathy or Coach Ward.

 

The ROTC staff meets every Thursday at 9:05 AM.

 

FCA meets every Thursday during both lunch shifts in Mrs. Wade’s classroom (C-6).  Everyone is invited to attend.

 

Students, we have several un-registered vehicles on our campus.  Effective immediately, any vehicle that is not registered and does not have a Benton High School parking sticker will be ticketed.  Please see Mrs. McDill to purchase your parking sticker.

Cross country t-shirts on clearance!! $8 each- gray or neon yellow! Long sleeved gray t-shirts- $10. Zippered sweatshirts- size small only $10!

 

CLEARANCE SALE:  “Tiger Nation” t-shirts – $5.  Sizes available:  Small, Large and X-Large.

 

Tennis t-shirts for sale - $15 for short sleeve, $20 for long sleeve.  See Coach Maranto (Room A-19) to purchase.

 

Sweatshirts are still available to purchase from Coach Owens – $40  now $20 – Crew and Hoodie.

 

Chicken Day spirit shirts are on sale in Mrs. Turner’s room (A-21).  They are $10.  The Chicken Day t-shirts are the only spirit shirts that can be worn on Wednesday’s.

 

Attention Students/Parents/Guardians:  

Students, please make sure that you have paid all of your fees and/or items (textbooks, uniforms, etc.) owed.

Failure to comply with the above will result in access blocked to School Loop for both the student and parent/guardian.  As soon as items are turned in and /or payment has been received, School Loop access will be released.  Thank you!


TIGER PRIDE!


Students/Parents:  The Louisiana Department of Education has mandated that all cell phones be collected by test administrators during all high stakes state testing. Each teacher who is administering a high stakes test (GEE or EOC) has been instructed to collect cell phones, MP3 players, or any other technological device with imaging or text-messaging capabilities. These devices will be placed in zip-lock bags which will be pre-labeled with students’ names. They will then be placed in a container and locked in a filing cabinet or cabinet. Students will be asked to initial that they have turned in a device and that they have had the device returned to them. Devices will be returned at the conclusion of the testing period. Students will not receive any consequences for being in possession of these devices.
