All students should have received a scheduling packet.  Please make sure you go over your upcoming schedule requests with your parents and have them sign the form (10th grade-GOLD, 11th grade-ORANGE, 12th grade-WHITE).  If you signed up for a BPSTIL course, you must also get BPSTIL qualification sheet signed.  All forms must be turned into the counselors ASAP.  The deadline for any schedule changes is May 20, 2016. 

Benton High School top gains school

BHS Earns an ‘A,’ Top Gains

Benton High School’s hard work is paying off as seen by the release of 2014-15 School Performance Scores by the Louisiana Department of Education. The Tigers posted gains in every indices, resulting in the school letter grade being raised to an ‘A’ and earning the distinction of being named a Top Gains School. Any parents that are interested in a Family Hardship / Extenuating Circumstance for the 2016-2017 school year need to complete the required Form and submit it to the Transportation by the due date.


For the beginning of the school year, the request for an alternate bus stop due to a Family Hardship / Extenuating Circumstance must be filed on the official BPSB Request for Student Transportation Family Hardship / Extenuating Circumstance Form and submitted to the BPSB Transportation Department prior to the third Monday in July preceding the opening of school for the designated school year.

The Benton Tigers rolled to their fifth straight Division II state golf championship on Thursday.


The Tigers shot a second-round 4-over-par 292 at the Par-72 Wetlands in Lafayette to go with a first-round 294 for a two-day total of 6-over 586.


E.D. White, which shot a 296 in the second round, finished second at 600, 14 strokes behind the Tigers.


“We played well today,” Benton coach Tim Cram said. “We played better today than yesterday which is unusual with everybody being kind of tired.”

Three Benton students attending Bossier Parish School for Technology and Innovative Learning grabbed the gold at the 2016 State SkillsUSA competition and will soon compete at the national level. 


Earning gold medals and heading to the 2016 SkillsUSA Nationals are: Levi Glasgow, Benton, Collision;Chris Harville, Benton, Graphic Arts; Christian Mann, Benton, Introduction to Health Occupations.
